Saucy Broccoli

A warm, filling twist on a favorite veggie side.

  • Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 Pints Broccoli Florets
  • 1/2 Cup Onion Minced
  • 2 Tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • 1 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Dried Mustard
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream Light

Instructions

  1. Cook broccoli in ½ inch of salted water, covered for about 5 minutes until crispy tender. Drain and keep warm.

  2. In a separate sauté pan, cook onions in butter until translucent and tender, about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in flour, brown sugar, dry mustard. Whisk in milk and cook until bubbly.

  4. Whisk in sour cream and heat but do not boil.

  5. Add in cooked broccoli and stir gently to combine.

  6. Serve warm.
